FIRST SUNDAY WALKS

Afternoon walks for the whole family, friends and neighbours

for friendship, fitness and fun. Each walk will be a guided route

of between 3-4 miles exploring the countryside  together on the

first Sunday afternoon of the month throughout 2012

There is no charge to take part, and sometimes there is even tea and biscuits to follow – or in the summer people can bring picnics. Good walking boots/shoes are needed, children welcome as are dogs if kept on leads.

All walkers take part at their own risk

These walks, organized by LOAF Project and Church Together in Hastings and St Leonards continue throughout 2012 and have consistently brought good groups of people together to enjoy the countryside around us together. Usually numbering around 30 people (sometimes we have had over 50) these walks are 3-4 miles, but often with a shorter option. If you haven’t been – do come and bring family and friends – everyone is welcome.

March 4th 2pm starting at Fairlight Country Park Car Park by the Information Office

April 1st  2.30 pm guided walk round the Pebsham Nature Reserve

May – join one of the LOAF May day walks on offer

There will be walks on June 3rd, July 1st and August 5th and details will be posted on the LOAF and Church Together websites

FOR THOSE WHO PREFER TWO WHEELS TO TWO FEET:

Rev John Western, minister of St Leonards Baptist Church and a keen cyclist and marathon runner will be leading a cycle route from Canterbury to Hastings (56 miles/90kms) along byeways and backroads. The aim is to catch uop with the 100kms walkers and the May Day 18 mile walkers when they reach St leonards – and raise money for charities of choice.

Details contact John at St Leonards Baprtist Church.
